Mercedes-Benz has finally launched its electric variant, Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric in India. It is one of the major upgrades in the premium electric SUV segment. One of the interesting facts about the launch is that, before the price reveal, the company had already received more than 400 confirmed bookings, which shows its demand for this luxury electric sedan in India.
Mercedes-Benz Features, Price and Details Revealed
The Mercedes CLA EV price in India begins with ₹55 lakh for the CLA 200 Standard Range. Also, Mercedes has launched two more segments. The CLA 250+ is priced at ₹59 lakh and offers better performance and driving range. The top-end CLA 250+ Launch comes around ₹64 lakh; it comes with an exclusive design and more features. All these competitive pricing make it one of the most accessible Mercedes electric cars in India right now.

New Platform and Advanced Software
This is the very first time that a Mercedes-Benz car in India is based on the new MMA platform (Mercedes Modular Architecture), which is specially crafted for EVs. Also, the new platform comes with enhanced efficiency, battery packaging and interior space. The car also comes with the latest MB.OS system, which improves connectivity, smart features and allows over-the-air updates. In simple words, the CLA EV has become smarter over time and with time, it’s becoming a true next-gen electric vehicle in India.
Performance and Power Details
All three vehicles come with good power and performance. The CLA 250+ long range and launch edition is powered by a 200kW (268 hp) engine and also produces 335 Nm torque. The CLA 200 Standard Range offers 165 kW (221 hp) with the same torque and can reach from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.
Range is one of the biggest highlights of the Mercedes CLA Electric range. The CLA 250+ variants provide up to 792 km (WLTP). Also, it is one of the longest-range EVs in India. On the other hand, the CLA 200 Standard Range presents around 542 km range, which is also ideal for long-distance driving and daily use.

Charging Speed and Efficiency
Charging is also the key highlight of the CLA Electric. The CLA 250+ segment supports up to 320 kW DC fast charging. On the other hand, the CLA 200 supports around 200 kW. As per Gadiwala, the long-range versions can add up to 400 km range in just 20 minutes with a 240 kW.
On the other hand, the CLA 200 can add around 320 km in the same time. It makes the CLA EV one of the fastest charging electric cars in India.
Interior, Exterior Design and Styling

The Mercedes CLA EV design comes with a sporty coupe look with a sleek aerodynamic body. Talking about the front look, there is a shark-nose design with a closed grille featuring 142 illuminated star patterns. Also, the 2,790 mm wheelbase assures better cabin space and comfort.
The CLA Electric provides a futuristic cabin with the latest MBUX infotainment system powered by MB.OS. It also supports OTA updates and regular feature upgrades. The technology is powered by NVIDIA processors and the system presents high performance for infotainment and vehicle controls.
The car also includes a smart AI assistant combining ChatGPT-4, Gemini and Microsoft Bing. All these assistants and features make this vehicle a premium EV experience.

Special Features of Launch Edition
The CLA 250+ Launch Edition comes with exclusive upgrades such as MANUFAKTUR Cosmos Black Magno Paint, 19-inch alloy wheels and Night Package styling. Also, inside the Launch Edition, it comes with leather seats, ambient lighting themes, AMG floor mats, gold look inserts and illuminated plates.

Charging Network and Safety plus Driver Assistance
Mercedes-Benz supports the CLA EV with its MB.CHARGE network in India. It provides access to more than 9,000 charging points. This enhances convenience and lessens range anxiety for EV buyers. Moreover, the CLA Electric also comes with Level 2 ADAS as standard, with Level 2+ features such as steering assist coming later via OTA updates.

Battery Health Reports Feature and Delivery Timeline
Mercedes-Benz has introduced a new High-Voltage Battery in India. It offers complete battery health data through diagnostics and inspections. All these features raise trust, mainly for resale and used EV buyers. Talking about the deliveries for the CLA 250+ Long Range, they will start by the end of April 2026. On the other hand, the CLA 200 Standard Range will begin from June 2026.
