The Jaecoo J7 was recently uncovered in India for the first time when it was transported in a flatbed truck and its design was clearly revealed as it was not covered with any camouflage. This appearance came after the sighting of other test mules like the Jaecoo J5, iCar V23, and Jetour T2 during the last few months. These revealing hints that JSW Motors probably have plans to bring a few models of Chery Automobile to India.
Besides the revelation of its design, the spotting became especially important which highlighted the fact that the Jaecoo J7 is a key model of the brand worldwide and has experienced strong initial demand in various international markets including in the UK.

Cabin and Features
Internally, the Jaecoo J7 is centered around a 14.8-inch portrait touchscreen in a technology-oriented cabin. For premium features, the SUV is equipped with dual wireless charging pads, leather seats, ambient lighting, warmed and ventilated front seats, and a panoramic roof.
The safety package is pretty comprehensive, giving you a 360-degree camera system with a transparent chassis view, a head-up display, and a full set of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Jaecoo markets the SUV internationally as a vehicle with excellent safety features.
Global Pricing
According to 91Wheels, the petrol variant of the Jaecoo J7 is available in the UK from £29,435, whereas the plug-in hybrid version is priced from £35,065 (around ₹43.7 lakh, considering present exchange rates). Thus, it remains a good competitor to Hyundai Tucson, BMW X1, and Citroën C5 Aircross in the global markets.

JSW Motors and India Plans
JSW Motors is said to be gearing up for a plan to launch an entirely new auto brand in India, a move that would run separately from their current collaboration with MG Motor India. The latest news is that the company, along with Chery Automobile, plans to concentrate on the segment of New Energy Vehicles, like EV and PHEV models.
Models like Jaecoo J5, iCar V23, Jetour T2, and recently Jaecoo J7 appearing in India through spy shots hint that the manufacturers are testing several models for the possible launch in India.
The newly launched Jaecoo J7, along with other potential hybrid SUVs, could spark a competitive tussle with the likes of Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson in the mid-size SUV segment, especially when hybrid technology starts getting very popular in India.

Conclusion
The Jaecoo J7 plug-in hybrid is a good-looking, feature-packed, and efficient SUV that could draw attention if its long driving range, first-class interior, and top-notch safety features are to be believed. In fact, it may be one of the few hybrid SUVs that can provide a solid driving experience in India.
Nevertheless, the final winning formula would be how JSW Motors comes up with pricing, localization, and after-sales support in a very competitive and price-sensitive market. If carried out properly, the Jaecoo J7 can be a great vehicle to show the progress of Chinese new-energy vehicles in India.
