Indian cricketer and Kolkata Knight Riders’ star Rinku Singh is set to be honoured for his services with the Indian cricket team by the UP government. The chief minister will honour the Indian cricketer in a ceremony to be held in the Lok Bhavan. As per ETV Bharat, the government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to reward the best players in the state. Rinku Singh is appointed as the regional sports officer.

Rinku Singh was a part of the Team India T20 World Cup 2026 squad and played some matches as well. He was having a tough time during the World Cup due to his father’s illness and eventual death.

In addition, Rinku Singh was part of the team that participated in the Asian Games held in China and won the gold medal. The UP government will distribute Rani Lakshmibai awards and Lakshman awards also.

Yogi Adityanath Honours Top Athletes Alongside Rinku Singh

A member of the bronze-winning Indian hockey team in the Paris Olympics, Rajkumar Pal, has been appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). Paralympic javelin throw silver medallist Ajit Singh (Etawah) will be the District Panchayat Raj Officer, Paralympic high jump gold medallist Praveen Kumar (Gautam Buddh Nagar) will be DSP, and the Paralympic 200m bronze medallist Simran (Ghaziabad) will be District Panchayat Raj Officer.  Also, Preeti Pal, a para athlete, is appointed as the block development officer.

As per ETV Bharat, the state government will give a total cash reward of Rs 1.64 crore to 14 players. Also, 19 players will get financial help of Rs 8.75 lakh under the Eklavya sports fund.
