Lava Bold 2 5G India Launch on March 13: Budget 5G Phone, In-Display Fingerprint, and Much More

Indian smartphone maker, Lava, is all set to launch its Bold 2 5G this March. Following the popularity and success of its previous model, Lava Bold 5G, users are awaiting this launch, especially as the company has revealed the in-display fingerprint, a hole-punch display cutout, and more. Let’s discuss the launch date, price, and features of this upcoming smartphone. 

Lava Bold 2 5G Launch and Availability in India

Lava has dedicated a microsite on Amazon, confirming the launch of its Bold 2 5G smartphone on March 13 at 12 pm IST. It’s already understandable that the sale will happen on Amazon, and certain offers will be available on the new launch. Additionally, the interested users can buy it at the Lava e-store. 

While confirming the launch date, the Lava team also revealed that the handset will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner for unlocking the device and biometric authentication. Additionally, it will have a hole punch display cutout, most likely for the camera for selfies and video calls. The trailer of the launch reveals that thin bezels surround the screen, with a thick chin.

Lava Bold 2 5G Price In India

Despite being just days away from launch, Lava has not officially revealed the price of the Bold  2 5G phone. Most likely, the price and clarity on specifications will be made live with the launch. However, there are rumours claiming that this smartphone will enter the market at a price somewhere between ₹11,999 and ₹13,999. This price is anticipated after analysing the competing budget in the 5G segment.

Features and Technical Specifications

Not much of the information around the Lava Bold 2 5G is available at press time, including the details on the features and specifications. Here’s all we know about its features: – 

Design and Display

The device is being marketed with the tagline “Brighter, Slimmer, Bolder”, which suggests that it will have a notably slim profile. Experts suggest it to be around 7.55 mm thick and weigh only 174 g.

Additionally, it will have a more modern and premium look than its flat frame and flat new panel design.

Speaking of the display, it will feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Other features are centre-aligned punch-hole cutouts and slim bezels.

The team has already revealed the inclusion of an in-display fingerprint scanner, which isn’t a common feature for a smartphone in this low price range. 

Another great news is that Bold 2 5G will come in the “Feather White” and “Midnight Black” colours, which will give it a minimalist glass-like finish.

Camera

According to the Cashify report, this smartphone will feature a dual-camera setup, housed in a rectangular module. It will have a 50 MP Sony IMX752 primary sensor, which will provide better results even in low lighting. The front will have a 16MP selfie shooter, a strong feature for this range of phones. 

Battery and Charging

It is alleged that Lava’s new phone will have a 5,000 mAh battery. Meanwhile, there are also rumours that it might bring a 6,000 mAh battery, but 5,000 is a more realistic claim due to the slim design of the phone. Aligning with most new phones, Bold 2 5G will also support 33W USB Type-C fast charging.
