Apple AirPods Max 2 Launch Date Confirmed: ₹67,900 Price, H2 Chip and New Features Explained

After 5 years of the AirPods Max Original’s launch, Apple has finally announced a new addition to its audio lineup, the new AirPods Max 2. Since it’s the newest addition, it is equipped with advanced tech and features and is all set to be launched later this March. Apple AirPods Max 2 Launch Date, Price, and Availability

According to the Apple newsroom blog, the brand will launch its AirPods Max 2 on March 25, 2026, for pre-orders, with shipping starting in April. Interestingly, the launch came just days after Apple launched its Neo MacBook, which costs nearly equal to these headsets. 

Reportedly, Apple AirPods Max 2 will be launched at the price of $549 (USD) or ₹67,900 in India, slightly lower than its budget-friendly MacBook. However, experts highlight the new features, especially related to noise cancellation and Apple intelligence, justifying the cost.

Apple AirPods Max 2 Key Features and Upgrades

Although AirPods Max 2 has kept the same over-ear look, Apple’s trademark, it has introduced many new internal improvements. Here’s all: –

Design and Battery

Before getting into features and updates, the color options of the Apple AirPods Max 2 are gaining significant attention. The new AirPods will be available in midnight, starlight, orange, purple, and blue, with pre-orders starting March 25, 2026.

In the design, Apple has also kept an environmental focus approach, as it used recycled materials for the new AirPods. They have featured rare earth elements like magnets and polyester in the ear cushion. The precious metals make up the internal circuits of the headset.

Speaking of the battery life, it will remain at 20 hours with ANC enabled. This is the same as the original AirPods launched back in 2020 (refreshed in 2024), which can be disappointing for some users.

The Apple AirPods Max 2 features computational audio algorithms, supporting active noise cancellation. With this, it will be up to one and a half times more effective compared to the previous model. 

Furthermore, it will precisely reduce ambient sounds coming from planes, trains, or crowded spaces. It also has optimized its transparency mode, so it will feel more natural even when noise cancellation is on, keeping you connected with your surroundings without interrupting the sound experience.

New Smart Audio Features

While the upgraded noise cancellation itself is a smart feature, Apple has introduced many more with the H2 processor. Here’s the list: –

• Live Translation in real-time, supporting multilingual communication
• Automatic Adaptive Audio (it will automatically change the sound settings)
• It will feature Conversation Awareness, so it will reduce music and enhance voices once it detects someone is trying to talk to you
• It will use machine learning for Voice Isolation to make calls clearer by prioritizing your voice and cutting the background noise.
• There are professional audio recording options, providing “studio quality” recording for podcasters and creators.
• Mute mode is also added for the times when hearing is required
• There’s also Siri interaction on head gestures, where the user can nod their head for yes and shake their head for no to respond to Siri notifications silently.  
• The product can also act as a remote control for the iPhone camera. By a single press of the Digital Crown, you can control the shutter of the camera. 

Experts note that Apple has built Max2 AirPods more as a wearable technology rather than a normal pair of headphones.

It is reported that the AirPods Max 2 will introduce a wider dynamic range amplifier. With that, it will deliver a cleaner and more detailed sound. Its Spatial audio is even better with more controlled bass and more natural mid and high frequencies.
