Why the Incident Matters for India
The sinking of the Iranian warship has raised regional issues because the ship had recently visited India for naval exercises. This means the event occurred in an area linked to Indian maritime security and international naval cooperation. In addition, experts say the attack shows that the current conflict between the US and Iran is spreading beyond the Middle East and into the Indian Ocean region, which is vital for global trade and security.
