Prime Minister Modi Remembers the CRPF Heroes on Pulwama Black Day
In an X post, dated February 13, on the eve of the Pulwama Black Day, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, paid a tribute to the martyrs. Modi acknowledged the bravery of these soldiers and said that their service to the nation is etched in consciousness.
The post reads: –
“Remembering the brave heroes who laid down their lives in Pulwama on this day in 2019. Their devotion, resolve and service to the nation remain forever etched in our collective consciousness. Every Indian draws strength from their enduring courage.”
Not only Modi, but opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, Vice President CP Radhakrishan, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, and many other leaders paid their tribute.
The day has been marked as a Black Day, and every Indian remembers these fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country.
A Wreath-Laying Ceremony Tribute to Martyred CRPF Jawans
Remembering the lost CRPF personnel, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at Lethpora in Pulwama. Many senior officials of the CRPF, civil administration, and security forces paid tributes to the 40 jawans who lost their lives in the Pulwama attack.

What Exactly Happened in Pulwama?
India witnessed one of the deadliest terrorist attacks on February 14, 2019, in Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorists targeted a convoy of the Central Reserve Police Force on the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway, killing 40 personnel.

Notably, the convoy comprised 78 buses carrying around 2,500 security personnel travelling from Jammu to Srinagar. Pakistan-based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility for the bombing.

According to the reports, a suicide attacker carried out the strike, killing 40 CRPF Jawans, who are now remembered as the heroes of the nation, and February 14 became the Pulwama Black Day.
Although India launched a series of counter-terror operations, including airstrikes on Pakistan’s terrorist camps, the loss is unfathomable and will be remembered forever by the nation.
