Interestingly, the launch comes after nine years of Elon Musk’s launch for the Tesla EV in India. However, due to Tax, import and manufacturing issues, the launch has been delayed. Notably, a few years back Tesla took a pre-book amount which they returned once the process got into delays.

Now the eyes are on the ₹68 lakh model and its features.

Here’s What Tesla Model You Can Buy With ₹68 Lakhs

Tesla has debuted with its most popular electric SUV, the Model Y, and is up for booking at the store. Notably, the model comes in two variants, i.e., Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and the Long-Range Rear Wheel Drive (LR RWD).

The Model Y price breakdown includes a standard RWD model priced at ₹59.89 lakh (range 500 km WLTP and 0-100km/hr acceleration in 5.9 seconds). Meanwhile, the LR variant has a quicker sprint of 5.6 seconds and a range of 522 km. This is priced at ₹67.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

The on-road price for this Tesla model would come at ₹69.15 lakh, whereas the other would cost ₹61.07 lakh in the Mumbai store. Additionally, there’s a customization option, including premium paint (₹1.85 lakh), dual-tone interiors (₹95 thousand), and much more.

With advanced model technology, panoramic glass roof, and premium audio system. Auto-pilot readiness, 15-inch touchscreen, and six interior colors. Tesla is hitting Indian roads. The bookings are now on with ₹22,220 deposits and ₹3 lakh in 7 days.

Overall, the ₹68 lakhs can get you the LR variant (ex-showroom), and the RWD for ever less, plus modification. However, the steep price still remains a major concern, as the same model costs nearly ½ in the U.S or China.
