The 98th Academy Awards were held on March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The nominations were announced in January. Sinners got the highest number of nominations with 16 but won only four awards. In addition, One Battle After Another had 13 nominations and won six awards. Frankenstein also received various nominations and won three awards. On the other hand, Marty Supreme was nominated nine times but did not win any awards.
The event celebrated major achievements in filmmaking and recognized the hard work of actors, production teams, and directors.
At the award ceremony, the biggest honours were given in four major categories. Best Director was awarded to the filmmaker who presented the movie with great vision and storytelling. In addition, Best Actress recognized the female performer who presented the most powerful role.
Moreover, the best actor honoured the male performer who gave an outstanding role on screen. Meanwhile, the best movie was awarded to the film considered the best overall, recognizing the efforts of the entire cast and production team.
