Blessing Muzarabani celebrates a wicket with Sikandar Raza while playing for Zimbabwe in an international T20 match

Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani will not play for Islamabad United in the 2026 PSL after getting a deal in the IPL with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). As per ESPNcricinfo, Muzarabani has informed Islamabad of his decision to withdraw.

Also, he is set to join the KKR campaign for IPL 2026. This decision comes into play after KKR were instructed by the BCCI in December to release Bangladesh left-arm bowler Mustafizur Rahman after he was bought at the 2026 auction for INR 9.2 crore (US $1.02 million approx.).

Moreover, Mustafizur is signed by Lahore Qalandars in the PSL, which begins from March 26, 2026.

In addition, Muzarabani was not signed initially at the PSL auction on February 11. The deal was later finalized with Islamabad as a direct signing after they let go of West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph.

Muzarabani has done extremely well in the T20 World Cup 2026, where Zimbabwe topped their group and reached the Super Eight. He took 13 wickets in six matches, four of them came in a match against Australia in the group stages.

In the previous year, Corbin Bosch, South Africa’s all-rounder, did the same, with the move sparking a critical controversy. Bosch joined the Mumbai Indians as a replacement for pace bowler Lizaad Williams.

However, the player was chosen in the diamond category by Peshawar Zalmi during the PSL 10 Draft. In an official statement of PCL, they confirmed the ban and noted that Bosch will now be eligible for selection in next year’s PSL.
