RCB to Miss Yash Dayal as Case Clouds Availability

As IPL 2026 approaches, RCB has received more updates. Royal Challengers Bengaluru have confirmed that Yash Dayal will not be joining the squad for IPL 2026. RCB director of cricket, Mo Bobat, has stated that Dayal will not be a part of IPL 2026 due to personal reasons.

Mo Bobat Statement of Yash Dayal

While speaking to reporters on Tuesday, he said, “So, just to confirm that Yash will not be joining up with the squad. As you know, he is going through a personal situation currently, and just to clarify, we’ve been very supportive of Yash to date, and that’s reflected in the fact that we retained him when we had the opportunity to either retain or release players.

“We wanted to retain him, and he remains under contract and will continue in the short term to remain under contract.” He also said, “We are communicating with him regularly. I spoke to him earlier today as well, but it has been decided that it is not in his best interest or the franchise’s best interest for him to join up with us at this point.”

“He retains our support, and he remains under contract, and we’ll continue to speak to him as he goes through his personal situation.”

Yash Dayal’s Legal Cases

As per sports NDTV, the first case was registered in July 2025 at the Indirapuram Police Station in Ghaziabad, where a woman accused him of physical and mental exploitation under the false pretext of marriage during a five-year relationship.

In addition, the second case was filed in Jaipur under the POCSO Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. In this case, a teenager who claimed that Dayal assaulted her various times since 2023, including the incident during the 2025 IPL season at a hotel where he had allegedly promised to help her career. 

The Allahabad high court has granted a stay on his arrest in the Ghaziabad matter, while a POCSO court in Jaipur rejected his anticipatory bail in December 2025.

Yash Dayal Role for RCB in IPL

As per The Times of India, Yash Dayal has played two IPL seasons for RCB and has taken 28 total wickets in 28 matches. He helped RCB qualify for the playoffs in 2024 and win the title in 2025. 

Moreover, he was the joint highest wicket-taker for RCB in 2024 with 15 wickets.

In Dayal’s absence, bowlers such as Josh Hazlewood, Nuwan Thushara, Jacob Duffy, Rashik Salam, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and others will need to shoulder bigger duties.

As per reports, Josh Hazlewood is also not available for the first phase of the IPL 2026 as he is recovering from an injury.
