Former England wicketkeeper-batter James Foster was appointed as the fielding coach of Chennai Super Kings on Monday ahead of the Indian Premier League 2026 edition.
James Foster is all set to join the coaching staff of CSK, led by former New Zealand national cricket team captain Stephen Fleming, with Michael Hussey guiding as batting coach and Eric Simmons as the bowling coach.
Throughout his career, James Foster played five T20Is, seven Tests, and 11 ODIs between 2001 and 2009.
He has also worked with England and New Zealand as a coaching staff member apart from winning the ILT 20 title earlier this year with Desert Vipers.

In the official CSK social media post, they said, “Say Yellove to our fielding coach James Foster! Former England wicketkeeper and a coach with experience across teams worldwide, he now kicks off this new chapter with the Pride.”
He is also the assistant coach of Birmingham Phoenix in the Hundred. He also served as both a fielding and assistant coach for the Kolkata Knight Riders between 2020 and 2023.

Former CSK player Irfan Pathan said on JioHotstar about MS Dhoni that: “As soon as the IPL comes around, we start seeing Mahendra Singh Dhoni again, which means he is fully prepared for it, and he is looking very fit as well,” “We have seen him take responsibility for a number of years now, but I think this is the time for the baton to pass to the likes of Ayush Mhatre, Dewald Brevis, Shivam Dube and Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is a young captain as well.”
