Volkswagen Taigun Facelift: Design Changes
The Taigun’s outline remains the same, but every detail you see has been enhanced subtly. One of the most visible changes at the front is the LED light bar that is connected to both headlights. This feature gives the car a wide and confident look. The VW logo in the centre is also backlit, which is a nice touch that not only elevates the premium feel of the car but also makes it recognizable from a distance at night.
In addition to that, the spy images have also caught glimpses of ‘TAIGUN’ lettering on the tailgate done in black (which replaces the previous chrome finish), new dual-tone alloy wheels, and a rear full-width LED light bar that complements the front’s connected look. The illuminated features greatly improve the SUV’s road presence, especially in situations where lighting is limited, portraying it as a more upmarket and contemporary vehicle.
Volkswagen Taigun Facelift: Interior & Cabin

The dashboard layout remains a recognizable one, however, the facelift has fixed two major complaints about the current car model and implemented the features its competitors have been having for some time.
New interior features:
- Might see a bigger or panoramic sunroof in the top versions. Entry level variants will come with a single-pane sunroof as standard.
- More comfortable and premium seating is expected.
- Updated infotainment that would be with a larger 10-inch touchscreen, improved user interface and connectivity feature, and a new digital instrument cluster.
- Enhanced air conditioning performance to provide effective cooling under the climatic conditions of India.
- Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, ventilated seats, and a rear washer & wiper even on base variants.
Back seat legroom is pretty much the same as in the current model, however, the addition of the comfort-oriented features such as seat ventilation definitely enhance the experience.
Volkswagen Taigun Facelift: Safety & Technology
Safety is set to be a main point in the facelift, particularly as competition in this segment is getting tougher.
It is anticipated that the safety features will include:
- Up to 6 airbags
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
- Hill hold control
- Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
- Rear parking camera with sensors
Despite competitors offering advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), the Taigun is still expected to continue without ADAS features. Nevertheless, Volkswagen is likely to keep solid build quality and dependable safety engineering as its main attractions.

Volkswagen Taigun Facelift: Engine & Specs
The tried and tested turbo-petrol engine line-up is back but the gearbox story this time is a bit more interesting.
1 litre TSI: The Entry Level Engine
- Output: ~115 PS
- Torque: 178 Nm
- Gearbox: 6-speed Manual and a new automatic gearbox (probably torque convertor, not confirmed.)
1.5-litre TSI: Performance Engine
- Power: ~150 PS
- Torque: 250 Nm
- Gearbox: 6-speed Manual and 7-speed DSG (Dual-Clutch)
When driven in real-world conditions, actual mileage on the road should be roughly the same as the current figure, varying with driving conditions.

Volkswagen Taigun Facelift: Driving Experience
One of the main highlights of the Taigun is its driving dynamics. The turbo-petrol engines pack quite the punch in the mid-range; at the same time, the steering keeps on being the precise and fun-to-drive kind.
With expected improvements to the automatic gearbox, it is likely that the city driving characteristics will be improved further. The transmission here will be capable of delivering smoother gear changes as compared to the outgoing unit. Stability at high speeds and the overall balance of ride have always been the main attributes of the vehicle, likely that they will be on the top list of highlights. This gives the Taigun an advantage in the eyes of driving enthusiasts.

The Taigun and Skoda Kushaq are essentially the same cars on the same MQB-A0-IN platform just under different badges. The Škoda Kushaq facelift is also expected soon (NOT officially launched yet) and it is a reliable indication of what exactly to expect from the Taigun. Similarly, Skoda has also announced that mileage will be heightened for all the Kushaq powertrains; you can expect the same here.

Why Choose the Taigun?
The Taigun’s main attractions are its lively driving experience, potent turbo petrol engines, and durable construction. Some competitors may feature a few extras such as ADAS or hybrid powertrains but Taigun certainly prioritizes offering a driving-fun character along with being practically usable everyday.
With the introduction of luxury elements like better air conditioning, and a new automatic gearbox, the vehicle has become a more complete package than before.

Conclusion
The Taigun facelift is not a radical transformation, rather it is a well thought targeted upgrade. Volkswagen indeed has heeded the voice of its customers: the air conditioning has been addressed, the automatic transmission improved, safety standards complied with and the cabin finally adorned with comfort and convenience features already seen in competitors.
If the pricing remains reasonable, this might be the most all round version of the Taigun ever and one of the better purchases in India’s highly competitive midsize SUV market.
