The popular motorcycle manufacturer, TVS Motor Company, is reportedly looking to launch a Ronin Cafe Racer variant as they filed for the design patent. Notably, the decision is linked to growing demand for the TVS Ronin, where the brand clocked an average monthly sales of 4,000-5,000 in 2025. Interestingly, the sales volume surged to 8,000 in the last few months, likely creating the need for a new variant. Here’s what to expect.

TVS Ronin Cafe Racer to Bring Design and Aesthetic Changes
Reportedly, TVS has filed a design patent for a Ronin Cafe Racer variant, featuring a sleek single-piece seat and an integrated rear cowl. The patent images reveal that the bike will be built on the same platform as the stock models, but it will have sportier graphics. This would make it more of an enthusiast-focused segment rather than its “modern-retro cruiser” identity.

Experts note that this variant has a strong reception of the Ronin “Kensai” custom built by Smoked Garage, the Ronin Agonda Edition showcased at MotoSoul 2025. Additional design details reveal a swept-back visor at the front, completely integrated in the headlamp unit.

Main noticeable design elements are: –
- Front Fairing: A new quarter fairing with a swept-back visor with an integrated circular LED headlamp.
- Clip-on Handlebars: Lower-set handlebars, which will give it a more “tucked-in” and aggressive riding posture. It differentiates it from the standard upright stance.
- Rear-set Footpegs: Positioned further back, a complementary feature to the sporty ergonomics.
- Single-Seat Setup: A slim, cafe racer-style seat featuring an integrated rear cowl. Experts suggest that it will likely be removable for a pillion in the production version.
- New Exhaust: A shorter, upswept, stubby exhaust will replace the long, horizontal black muffler featured on the current model.
- Instrument Cluster: The patent images reveal a centrally-mounted circular console instead of the signature offset (left-aligned) pod on the standard Ronin.

| Feature | Expected Specification |
| Engine | 225.9cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, SOHC |
| Power | ~20.4 PS @ 7,750 RPM |
| Torque | ~19.93 Nm @ 3,750 RPM |

| Chassis | Double Cradle Split Synchro Stiff Frame |

It is also expected that TVS will bring significant changes in gearing or ECU mapping to provide a punchier mid-range. Additionally, they might stiffen the suspension to provide stability.

Performance and Dynamics
As already mentioned, the TVS Ronin Cafe Racer would not likely have any changes in the engine compared to the standard one, but the handling may differ. According to the patent images, there’s a sharper front-end geometry, which would reduce rake. Additionally, the bike would feature performance-oriented road tyres instead of the block-pattern dual-purpose ones used on the current Ronin.
Experts claim this would make the new variant even more agile in the corners.
TVS Ronin Cafe Racer Variant Launch and Pricing Details
Although the TVS has filed for the Ronin Cafe Racer patent, the launch is not confirmed yet. Industry rumors suggest that the launch may happen by late 2026 or later at a major auto show or the next MotoSoul event.
Speaking of the price, it will be costlier in the Ronin range, estimated at ₹10,000 – ₹15,000 higher than the current top-spec Ronin, which retails around ₹1.70 Lakh (ex-showroom).
