Reason Behind the 350cc Move
The primary reason for introducing 350cc models is the latest GST rule change in India. Bikes with engines above 350 now attract a higher 40% tax. On the other hand, bikes under 3500 cc fall under 18% GST. Moreover, to balance competitive pricing and avoid a higher tax bracket, Triumph is building bikes that stay below the 350 cc limit.
Engine & Mechanical Details

The latest and upcoming 350cc engine will be derived from Triumph’s existing 399 cc single-cylinder platform. The firm is expected to bore size while holding the stroke the same, bringing the capacity below 350cc. Moreover, power results will likely be lower than the current 400cc models, but the main aim will stay on smooth performance and strong mid-range power for daily use.
Pricing & Market Positioning
With the lower GST slab, Triumph focuses on pricing these bikes more competitively in India’s mid-capacity segment. The move will help the brand compete strongly in the 350cc category while providing premium build quality and global brand appeal.
