Early Life of Sanju Samson
Sanju Samson was born on 11 November 1994 in Pulluvila, a village near Vizhinjam in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He was raised in a Malayali Christian family with a strong sporting background. His father, Samson Viswanath, was a Delhi police constable and a former football player who also represented Delhi in the Santosh Trophy. Samson spent his early years in North Delhi, living in the police residential colony in GTB Nagar. He did his schooling at Rosary Senior Secondary School in Delhi.
He began his cricketing journey with coach Yashpal at the DL DAV Model School academy in Shalimar Bagh. After the first setback, where Samson failed to make the Delhi Under-13 team, his father decided to retire from the Police force and move the family back to Kerala and seek better opportunities for his son’s cricketing career.
His first achievement came when he captained the Kerala Under-13 team in 2007. He was also the player of the tournament after scoring 973 runs in just five matches. Later, he also led state teams at the U-16 and U-19 levels. He completed his graduation from St. Joseph Higher Secondary School and later earned a B.A. in English Literature from Mar Ivanios College.
