Bangladesh is all set for the home series against New Zealand. Bangladesh’s new selection panel, which is led by Habibul Bashar, has announced an unchanged 15-man squad that won the series against Pakistan 2-1. The series includes three ODIs and three T20 Internationals.

The One-Day Internationals are scheduled on April 17 and 20 in Dhaka. Lastly, the third ODI will be played in Chattogram. According to ESPN, Mehidy Hasan Miraz will lead the side as announced earlier. The team is coming off a series win. Also, there are various questions on players such as Saif Hassan and Afif Hossain, who average 17.33 and 19,00 respectively in three innings in Pakistan. 

They have also retained the same pace bowlers. The list includes Nahid Rana, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, and Shoriful Islam.

Ben Sears ruled out of the ODI series against Bangladesh, Ben Lister comes as a replacement

As per the IansLive, New Zealand Cricket, in a statement, confirmed, “Lister, who is also part of New Zealand A one-day squad in Sri Lanka, will link up with the BLACKCAPS in Bangladesh on Sunday ahead of the ODI series which gets underway in Mirpur on Friday.”

The statement also added, “Sears won’t be replaced in the BlackCaps ODI squad for Bangladesh and will instead join up for the T20 series, which gets underway in Chattogram on Thursday, April 30.”

Ben Lister is a 30-year-old seamer and has four wickets from three ODI and seven 11 wickets in 12 T20Is.

Will 5 Bangladesh Players Join the ODI Squad Amid PSL 2026 Commitments?

As per ESPNcricinfo, five members of the Bangladesh ODI squad in the series against New Zealand are currently playing the Pakistan Super League 2026. The names include Nahid, Mustafizur, Shoriful, Tanzid Hasan, and Rishad Hossain. According to the sources, all the players are expected to join the rest of the squad members on April 12 and only Mushtafizur is expected to return to the PSL 2026 after the ODI series ends on April 23.

However, no player of New Zealand squad is currently in the PSL or the IPL. So, all players are available from the squad.
