India’s foldable smartphone market is getting ready for a fierce battle with a new competitor. Ai+, the company led by Madhav Seth who is an industry veteran, has announced the launch of Ai+ Nova Flip 5G on April 9, 2026, in India. This will be the company’s first clamshell foldable device and the launch is happening on Flipkart. The device is being marketed as a much affordable alternative to Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series and Motorola Razr.
However, the launch is not just a single product event, but a triple-header event: with the Nova Flip 5G, Ai+ is also launching Ai+ Nova 2 5G and Ai+ Nova 2 Ultra 5G, which means it is one of the brand’s biggest product days since entering the Indian market.

Design & Build: Slim, Light, and Pocket-Ready
The Ai+ Nova Flip 5G sticks to the now classic clamshell foldable form factor, a rectangular device folding in two halves horizontally along the hinge. When closed it is only 7.22mm thick and weighs 193 grams, which makes it one of the thinnest and lightest in the category. In terms of everyday usability, the device is so compact that you won’t even notice it in your pocket.
On the outside, it features a rectangular cover screen with a dual rear camera setup right next to it, this design language almost exactly copies the aesthetics laid down by Samsung and Motorola in this space. Cover display specifications, however, have not yet been officially revealed by the brand.
Display: 6.78-Inch AMOLED Inner Screen at 120Hz
The Ai+ Nova Flip 5G’s main display inner panel is a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1, 200 nits in high brightness mode. These specifications are more than enough for a mid-range flagship, let alone a foldable at this price point.
For reference, a 120Hz AMOLED display at 1,200 nits ensures smooth scrolling, vivid colours and good visibility even in direct sunlight. As for the secondary or cover display, which is the screen seen when the phone is folded, there are very few details apart from the confirmation by the Flipkart microsite that it is in a rectangular form adjacent to the camera module.

Performance: MediaTek Dimensity 7300X on 4nm
MediaTek Dimensity 7300X, manufactured using a 4nm process node, powers the Nova Flip 5G. This SoC is tailored to budget smartphones and vertical foldable models, and is said to reach an AnTuTu score of about 708, 000, thus securing a spot in the capable mid-range category.
With the Dimensity 7300X, users get a very competent platform not only for the basic operations but also for social media, video streaming, photography, and casual gaming. Moreover, the 4nm process technology has a substantial effect on the efficiency of the chip, which should translate to the longevity of the 4,325mAh battery in practice.
Camera System: 50MP Main + 13MP Selfie
On the Nova Flip 5G, taking photos is facilitated by two lenses on the back, with the primary sensor being 50MP and the other one 2MP. The rear camera unit is one of the main features on the cover of the device along with the cover display.
Selfies and video chats are taken care of by a 13MP selfie camera which is positioned inside the main display panel. It operates on nxtQ OS, a unique operating system developed entirely by Ai+ with making privacy of the users its foremost concern. The comparison clearly highlights what the value proposition of Ai+ is: there is no other 5G flip phone that can even come close to Nova Flip’s price point.
