The Indian Premier League 2026 delivered a thrilling Sunday with a perfect double header for fans. In the first match, LSG showed great control in their chase against SRH. Later, RCB dominated with a massive total, while CSK struggled to keep up. From explosive batting to match-winning performances, the day had everything that makes IPL entertaining for cricket lovers.

Pant Finishes in Style as LSG Outplay SRH in Low-Scoring Thriller

Lucknow Super Giants won the first match of the season. LSG won the toss and elected to bowl first. Mohammed Shami showed his experience and removed Abhishek Sharma for a duck and later Travis Head, while Prince Yadav dismissed Ishan Kishan and SRH were at 11/3.

Liam Livingstone couldn’t make a huge impact and SRH were 35/4. Then, in form, Klaasen came to bat with Nitish Kumar Reddy. They both scored half-centuries and helped SRH put 156 runs on board. Heinrich Klaasen scored back-to-back two fifties and Nitish Kumar Reddy showed his class.

Klaasen scored 62 runs off 41 balls and Nitish Reddy scored 56 off just 33 deliveries. They both scored a 116-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Later, Lucknow was chasing 157, and it seemed very easy. Aiden Markam provided a strong start and scored 45 runs off just 27 balls. After that, Pant took charge and made sure that LSG won their first match of the season. 

He scored an unbeaten 68 runs off 50 balls. His innings includes 9 fours. Pant finished the game in style by hitting over mid off for four with one ball to spare. Mohammed Shami was awarded the player of the match. He took 2 wickets and conceded only 9 runs in four overs with an economy of 2.20.

After the match, Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka won hearts with a brilliant gesture for captain Rishabh Pant after his team’s victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad. Goenka shared a hug with Pant, and both of them were having a cheerful conversation on the field.

RCB’s 250-Run Explosion Crushes CSK in Chinnaswamy Run-Fest

The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium witnessed a high encounter game between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Chennai Super Kings. RCB won the match by 43 runs. RCB created history by scoring the highest ever total against CSK of 250/3. Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first. Anshul Kamboj took Virat Kohli’s wicket (28 off 18) in the fifth over.

But later Phil Salt scored 46 runs off just 30. Devdutt Padikkal later made an impact with a fifty in just 29 balls. But the real destruction came when Rajat Patidar and Tim David came to bat. Tim scored an unbeaten 70 runs in just 25 balls. In the 19th over of the match, he scored 30 runs against Jamie Overton. On the other hand, Captain Patidar scored 48 runs in just 19 balls. The duo added a partnership of unbeaten 99 runs and helped RCB to put up a total of 250.

While chasing, CSK didn’t get the start that they wanted. Jacob Duffy took the rival captain (Ruturaj Gaikwad(7)) in the very first over, followed by the quick dismissal of Ayush Mhatre(1). Sarfaraz Khan scored a fast half-century with a strike rate of 200.00, but the required run rate forced strokes as he was stumped in the bowling of Krunal Pandya. 

Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 3 wickets and conceded 41 runs, and became the second bowler to complete 200 wickets after Yuzvendra Chahal. Eventually, CSK were all out for 207 in 19.4. Tim David was awarded the player of the match award. With his explosive innings, RCB got their second consecutive victory in their title defence.

Overall, this Sunday was very entertaining for the Cricket fans.
