Australia all-rounder Cameron Green, who will play for Kolkata Knight Riders, was recently involved in a tense situation with a reporter after the match against New South Wales in Sydney, as per a report in The Age.
The incident took place outside Western Australia’s dressing room after the third day of the match on Monday. After a much-needed century in the Sheffield Shield against the NSW, Green agreed to speak to journalist Tom Decent from the Sydney Morning Herald after stumps on Monday.
A report in The Age explained the interaction by stating the interview began with a question about Green’s recent century for Western Australia against New South Wales.

Green replies by saying, “Yeah, it’s obviously a great feeling. We’ve had a really good start to the first three days, so hopefully we can get a win tomorrow.”
He was later asked about his form leading up to that innings.
Green responded with “I’m not answering that question. Next question.”
The reporter then chose to end the interaction. As per reports, as the reporter was exiting, Green said, “Waste of time.” The reporter confronted him, claiming that he was waiting all day for the interview, but Green hit back with, ‘Why are you out to get me?’
As per reports, Western Australia’s head coach, Beau Casson later apologised on behalf of the player.
The incident took place shortly before the IPL 2026, when Kolkata had invested too much in Green. The franchise bought him for Rs 25.20 Cr at the mini auction. He is also the highest-paid overseas player in IPL history.

Green’s recent performance was not as good as expected; he scored 171 runs in five matches during the 2025/26 Ashes, with a high score of 45.
During the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, Green managed to score a total of 24 runs in just three matches and just 1 wicket.

However, the three-time IPL title holder KKR will start their IPL 2026 campaign against the five-time champions Mumbai Indians on March 29, 2026.
The main aspects are the role, batting position, and hopes from the franchise’s big signing Green, on whom the team spends Rs 25.20 cr.

Former Australian cricketer Greg Chappell also gave his statement on Cameron Green by saying that he described Green as having become a batsman “stuck at the crease” who is unable to use his natural athleticism and movement to score runs or reach, marking a significant drop in his performance.
