The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today announced the schedule for the first phase of the TATA IPL 2026. The IPL is set to begin on March 28 2026. The full schedule is set to be announced after the poll dates of the state assembly elections are announced.

The opening match of the tournament will be the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad at their home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, on 28 March 2026.
As per iplt20 official website, in the first phase, a total of 20 matches will be played across 10 venues: Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Lucknow, New Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Guwahati.
During this period, the tournament will also feature four double headers, with the afternoon match starting at 03:30 PM IST and the evening match starting at 07:30 PM IST.
The first double header is scheduled on April 4, 2026, where the Delhi Capitals are ready to face the Mumbai Indians in the afternoon match at 03:30 PM IST at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. On the other hand, the second will be Gujarat Titans vs Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad at 07:30 PM IST.
As per the schedule, Rajasthan Royals will start their home campaign in Guwahati, where they will take on Chennai Super Kings in the third match of the league on 30 March, 2026. As per iplt20, RR will play three home matches in Guwahati and four in Jaipur. RCB will play five home matches in Bengaluru and two in Raipur.
In addition, the Punjab Kings will play four home matches in New Chandigarh and three in Dharamshala.
